Get a Library Card

City Residents:

City residents do not pay for a card because they have paid taxes for library service.

Cards are issued to adults aged 18 and older.  Adults must apply for cards for children.

To get a card you will need:

  • Photo ID
  • Proof of residence: example, PUD Bill or any piece of offical mail that shows the residential address
  • Mailing address: example P. O. Box or street address

County Residents:

The Cowltiz County Commissioners do not fund library service.
Cowlitz County residents are required by Washington State Law to pay a fee for library service.
County residents may purchase a family card for a yearly fee.  This fee enables everyone living at the same residence to get a library card.  Photo ID is required.

Current fee for a 2019 library card is $35.00 per year, payable at the Library, cash or check.  Cards may also be purchased online through the City of Kalama website.

Made possible with funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services
through the Washington State Library, Office of the Secretary of State.
